Buyer FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for buyers planning custom products, promotional merchandise, private label packaging, samples, payment, quality checks, and export shipping from China.

1Quote Preparation

What information is needed for an accurate quotation?

Send product reference, target quantity, logo file, logo position, material preference, packaging requirement, destination country, deadline, and any compliance or retailer requirements. Clear inputs reduce assumptions and revision cycles.

Do you support small quantity custom orders?

Some products support small trial quantities, while others need higher MOQ because of tooling, printing setup, material purchase, packaging, or factory scheduling. We confirm practical MOQ after reviewing the product and customization details.

Why does the final quote change from the first estimate?

The final quote can change when quantity, material, size, logo method, packaging, inspection scope, delivery term, or destination changes. Custom products need RFQ details before the price is reliable.

Are setup, mold, sample, and packaging costs included?

They are confirmed by project. Some orders need printing setup, mold opening, artwork cleanup, sample making, custom packaging, or special inspection. We state these costs in the quotation or pro forma invoice when they apply.

2Products and Customization

Can CustomInChina source products that are not listed on the website?

Yes. The product pages show common sourcing routes, but buyers can also send reference photos, links, sketches, specs, or existing samples. We review material, size, structure, MOQ, logo method, packaging, and export feasibility before quoting.

Can products be customized with our logo, colors, or private label packaging?

Most products can be reviewed for logo printing, embroidery, engraving, color matching, size adjustment, labels, hang tags, barcode stickers, polybags, retail boxes, carton marks, and private label packaging. Final options depend on the material, order quantity, and production method.

3Artwork and Proofs

What artwork files should buyers send?

Vector files such as AI, EPS, PDF, or SVG are preferred. High resolution PNG or JPG files can be reviewed, but they may need cleanup or redrawing before production. Buyers should also confirm logo size, placement, color reference, and any packaging artwork.

Can you help prepare a digital proof?

Yes. For many products we can prepare a mockup or proof after the product, logo position, logo method, and artwork file are confirmed. The proof is used for layout confirmation before sample or production work starts.

Can you match Pantone colors exactly?

Pantone references help control color, but exact results can vary by material, surface color, ink absorption, coating, lighting, and production method. For strict brand projects, a physical sample or production proof is recommended before bulk approval.

4Samples and Production

Can buyers request samples before bulk production?

Yes. Depending on the product, buyers can request blank samples, branded samples, packaging samples, photos, videos, or digital mockups. Sample cost, setup cost, and courier cost are confirmed before sample preparation.

How long does sample and bulk production take?

Lead time depends on product type, material availability, logo method, packaging, order quantity, and approval speed. Many custom projects need sample review first, then bulk production after written approval and deposit.

What should be checked before approving production?

Buyers should check product size, material, color, logo position, spelling, imprint quality, packaging, label details, carton marks, quantity split, and destination requirements. Written approval helps keep the production reference clear.

5Payment

What payment methods does CustomInChina support?

For custom export orders, common options include T/T bank transfer, L/C for qualified larger orders, and Alibaba Payment or Trade Assurance when the order is arranged through an approved Alibaba channel. Terms are confirmed on the quotation or pro forma invoice.

What are the usual payment terms for custom orders?

Many bulk custom orders use a deposit before production and a balance before shipment. Samples, tooling, urgent material purchase, or low value trial orders may require full payment before work begins. The exact term is confirmed in writing.

Who pays bank or platform fees?

Sender bank charges, intermediary bank fees, beneficiary bank fees, platform fees, and currency conversion differences should be clarified before payment. The pro forma invoice can state the expected received amount and payment reference.

6Quality Checks

How does CustomInChina check quality before shipment?

Inspection scope depends on the product and order. Common checks include appearance, quantity, size, logo accuracy, color, function, packaging, label placement, carton marks, and shipment photos. Higher-risk products can require additional checks.

7Shipping and Delivery

Which shipping methods are available?

Depending on size, weight, deadline, and destination, shipments can move by express courier, air freight, sea freight, rail freight, FOB, CIF, EXW, or DDP when suitable. Samples usually move by express courier; bulk orders often compare air and sea options.

Can you ship directly to our office, event, warehouse, or customer?

Yes, direct shipment can be reviewed. Buyers should provide recipient details, phone number, destination address, delivery deadline, packaging instructions, and any import requirements. Multi-address projects need a clean shipment list before packing.

Do production time and transit time mean the same thing?

No. Production time covers artwork review, sampling, material purchase, manufacturing, inspection, and packing. Transit time starts after goods are shipped. Event orders should include buffer for customs clearance and local delivery.

8After-Sales and Documents

What if there is a problem after delivery?

Buyers should report the issue with photos, videos, carton labels, quantity count, and order reference. We review whether the issue relates to approved sample deviation, production defect, packing damage, logistics damage, or specification mismatch, then discuss a practical resolution.

Can you provide certificates or compliance documents?

Available documents depend on product category, material, supplier, and destination market. Buyers should request compliance needs before quotation or sampling, especially for electronics, children products, food-contact items, textiles, batteries, cosmetics packaging, and regulated goods.
